The Living Story Workshops Session 4: The Story Beneath the Story

July 26 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Living Story Workshop 4

What Old Stories Teach Your Story — A Virtual Storytelling Workshop

Event Description

Some stories are older than we are — and they still know things.

In this fourth session of The Living Story, we open up the deep structures behind myth, folktale, and fairy tale — and the craft tools that make any story persuasive and alive. Then we turn every one of those tools directly onto the story you’ve been building since Session 1.

You’ll learn to spot the five story types and what each one is built to do, see how traditional tales persuade through ethos, logos, and pathos, and name the craft elements — the rule of three, the reveal, specificity, and more — that make a story land. You’ll get the session’s longest block of work time to apply all of it to your own draft, then share what shifted with the group and publicly name the story you’re bringing to the Showcase.

This session is designed to be taken as part of the series, but if you’ve missed a prior session, you’re still welcome — reach out and we’ll help you catch up.
