Traditional folk and Appalacian tales provided the foundation of my storytelling. I have come to love collecting and telling multicultural tales and the occasional personal narrative–although I find the experiences of others to be far more interesting than my own. Often I tell my audience that “I am not a story writer; I am a storyteller,” and I strive always to give homage to the sources of those stories that adopt me. My programs are highly interactive, multi-generational and tend to include music, puppets and lots of audience participation. My goal is to bring laughter and happiness to those to honor me by listening.
